Hello Aspirant,
If you want to go for diploma courses from government college then the process will depend on the diploma course you want to pursue. Since you haven't mentioned the course i cannot tell you about the exact admission process and entrance exam. However for getting into government colleges for diploma you will have to appear for entrance exam like Diploma Entrance tests JET etc.

Which diploma course are you asking about?
Different states conduct their own state level entrance examination to offer diploma courses in government colleges .
You are allotted a government college on the basis of rank obtained by you in the entrance exam
For example,
if you belong to Jharkhand then to get a seat in government diploma engineering college etc , you have to appear for a state level entrance exam called Jharkhand polytechnic entrance exam, once you clear it you have to attend the counselling and then on the basis of rank obtained by you in the exam you get a college.
So, if you want to get into a government college for diploma you need to appear for your state level entrance exam and qualifiy it
