Dear Nandini,
There is no eligibility marks for appearing in JEE Main 2018. If you have passed class 12th/equivalent exam in 2016 or 2017 or appearing in class 12th/equivalent in 2018, then you are eligible for taking the test.
But, for admission into NITs/IIITs/CFTIs on the basis of JEE Main 2018, you need to have 75% (General Category) aggregate marks in class 12th/equivalent exam, 65% (Reserved category) aggregate marks in class 12th/equivalent exam.
Or
You need to be in the top 20 percentile in your respective class 12th/equivalent board.
You will be eligible for admission only if you fulfill either of the 2 coditions mentioned above. If you do not meet this eligibility, then after taking the exam, you will not be eligible for admission in JEE Main 2018 participating institutes.
