CSE placements in KIIT,BBSR depends a lot on your CGPA and certifications(since 2015). If you have a GPA >9 and you are fluent in English and can solve aptitude,just having good basic knowledge of your subject is enough to get you placed in a good company which offer a package of 5 to 8 lpa.

Apart from that there are mass recruiters which also test your aptitude and basic knowledge and are not that difficult to get into either.Some companies have criteria of a 60 % career through out while some raise the bar to 65%.

So to be on the safe side if you have taken up CSE in KIIT try to maintain your CGPA above 7 and you can sit for 95% of the companies.
As mostly IT companies come to recruit from KIIT,CSE placements in KIIT is good(compared to other branches at least).The average package ranges from 3.5-4 lpa and there is almost 95% placements(taking only those eligible for placement into consideration).

For packages ranging from 40-50 , you need to opt for govt.
