All the best !
IIITs in context of education are the institutes which provide engineering courses or majors mainly like
- Computer Science and Engineering(CSE)
- Electronics and Comunication Engineering(ECE)
- Information Technology(IT)
- IIITs are of three types mainly:-
- Indian Institute of Information Technology:- Under they are of two types. First one is these are the institute which are totally under control of Ministry of Human Resources or Development. These are directly under MHRD . As they are under MHRD, they are considered as the nations top engineering college but below IITs and NITs and some private institutes. For example:-IIIT Allahabad,IIIT Guwahati, etc. Second is new IIITs which are based on N-PPP(Not-for-Profit Public Private Partnership) model. These partners are MHRD and few industry partners as Not-for-profit Public Private Partnership (N-PPP) Institution. These are also nations top institutes for engineering but are relatively new. For example:-IIIT Pune,IIIT Nagpur, etc.
- International Institute of Information Technology:- These are private institutes which doesnt any relation with MHRD in terms of controlling. Mostly are like other private college but IIIT-Hyderabad is considered to be one of the best college and sometimes even to IITs. But rest are not so good.
- Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology:- It is an research based university in Delhi. It is also considered as one of the best college in India.
