Unlike percentage which is absolute, percentile is a relative quantity.
Your percentile indicates the number of people who are behind you. NTA has set minimum 50 percentile to qualify NEET for UR.
Topper has 100% always.
Subsequently the percentile decreases in decimal places. That last ranker has zero percentile.
Suppose of your percentile is 95, then 95% students are behind your rank.

percentile means how many students who have appeared in the examination are you a head of that means if you are the topic out of 100 students 99 students are behind used for your achieving the 99th percentile as the topper of the examination and so on and so forth
