You can apply to colleges before and after the result it majorly depends on the institute you are applying .Say suppose you Want to K J somaiya institute of management studies then you need to stay updated with their website . last year they kept last date for registartion 3-4 days before the result dates. so you have to first need to calculate how many marks your getting by checking the Answer keys. last year they published answers keys of both the session. there are many colleges to whih you can apply through CMAT . there are various diffrent criteria for various diffrent collges as such so you have to stay connected with the official college website.

The selection procedure of CMAT is conducted by the institutes after the results are declared. The CMAT selection procedure is held for only those candidates who have obtained the scores as per CMAT cut off. The selection procedure is likely to be conducted in February/March every year. The selection procedure of CMAT will commence after each institute releases their list of shortlisted candidate. The CMAT selection procedure is mainly for those who want to pursue management based programmes across India. After the results of CMAT are declared, each state will have its cut off based on which candidates will be called in for the next selection round.
