Hello,
Sanjib Kumar Tripathy
- Colourblindness does not deal with absolute blindness. Colourblindness is an incapability of an individual in seeing different colors. The people suffering from this cannot identity between blue and yellow or red and green.
The inability to identify between red and green color is more prevalent than blue and yellow.
- Colourblindness is a genetic deficiency which means it evolves from inheritance. It is more common in males than females.
- Colourblind people can identify most of the colours but their perception is still limited depending in the type of colour deficient they are.
The signs that you could be deficient is the confusion between red and green.
- Since the deficiency is hereditary, there is no cure found till now. People usually adapt to it and learn to deal with it. There are special lenses for the colourblind defecient's like contact lenses or eyeglass lenses.
- Most people know that a colour blind person is unlikely to be able to become a pilot but there are many other careers which are unsuitable for colour blind people and numerous jobs where the colour blind will find it difficult to function as well as their colour normal colleagues.
- Some professions, such as graphic designing require handling various colors of electrical wiring, depend on accurate color perception which makes it not a desirable career option.
- Most transport industries exclude colour blind people from most roles as do most uniformed services and a large number of disciplines in the Armed Forces.
- There are many careers that colourblind people can't choose but then again there are many things one can do. Scientists are working on Gene Therapy which is going to be very useful in future.
I hope this helps you!
