Both B.Sc and B.com are needed even in present and in future. Both the streams are important in their own way. What you have to focus is which one is the best for you. Consider these points:
- If you are from a science background, B.Sc in MECS will be easy for you. Understanding commerce syllabus might seem a bit difficult.
- If you want to do research, then B.Sc is the best choice.
- If you are into finance sector then B.Com (//B.Com) is your choice.
Both the streams have their own perks. If you take B.Sc, you have pursue higher studies, do research, can get into teaching profession, can apply for government jobs, work in multinational companies, enter into IT field too as you have CS in MECS.
If you take B.com you can apply easily for bank exams, teaching profession, as a finance analyst in companies, can apply for government jobs also.
What matters is your interest. So decide accordingly.
