Dear Sam,  in 2017, under State Quota for ST Category, 143 marks secured a seat in North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional and Medical Institute. 238 marks are decent enough for getting a seat. Having said that cut off changes every year and is dependant on various factors like no.of seats available, no.of candidates appearing for the exam, top NEET score and difficulty of the exam. For admission into medical colleges, candidates need to score marks that are equal to or more than the given two cut-offs:

1.) Qualifying cut-off: Minimum scores required to qualify NEET UG. This is set by the NTA.

2.) Admission cut-off: Minimum scores required for taking admission into a medical college. This is set by the college authorities.

The cutoffs vary for different categories of candidates.

The reserved category candidates have lower cut-offs  than the unreserved category students.

Cut-offs for government medical colleges are higher than the private colleges.

So wait for this year's cutoffs to be released as the cut-offs vary every year.
