Both the branches are good but students opt for Computer Science Engineering comparatively as there is no such big difference between both as CS engineers are involved in many aspects of computing, from the design of individual microprocessors, personal computers and supercomputers to circuit designing and writing software that powers them whereas IT deals with the use of electronic computers and computer software to store, protect, process, transmit and securely retrieve data and which branch to go for depends on your personal interest so you are advised to go for CS if you have keen interest in hardware and basic software part and in case you have your ambitions somewhere in the management sector of IT companies with a sound knowledge of technologies then IT is the field for you.
