hey aspirant,
You should do either ones that fulfill requirements for completing the degree or ones that cover topics you are interested in.
That being said, one elective course that can help better in understanding biochemistry was protein engineering course. however this courses is not so common.
Some others that might also be helpful for understanding might include anything related to: nutrition, healthcare, molecular biology, cell biology, genetics, physiology, virology, or microbiology.
