As you are in third year it is better to do internships which would be and added advantage while they are recruiting you.and also you would have experience in work.
And the other thing is if you are an software engineer then you can learn the programming languages.even is you are not an software engineer you can learn it would help you if your looking to get into software.
Start learning about the new technologies.
