Who are those who have gone to NASA previous year?

NASA stands for National Aeronautics and Space Administration. NASA is a U.S. government agency that is responsible for science and technology related to air and space. The Space Age started in 1957 with the launch of the Soviet satellite Sputnik.

NASA opened for business on Oct. 1, 1958. The agency was created to oversee U.S. space exploration and aeronautics research.

The administrator is in charge of NASA. The NASA administrator is nominated by the president and confirmed by a vote in the Senate.

Depending on what your background is, it could be a long journey to reach NASA from India.

1. Get an undergraduate degree in any of the core engineering fields like mechanical/electrical/CS/aerospace from a reputed Indian college or abroad.
2. Try to do your graduate studies in USA in fields related to aerospace/ core space science. This gives you a chance to find a PhD or a job in USA and some years of living experience in USA, so that you can get a permanent residence in USA. Without a permanent residence (PR) or a US citizenship, you can not join NASA, this can take up to 5–10 years depending on your efforts.
3. Once you have some years of experience in a US aerospace industry or a research experience in some US university, along with a PR or citizenship, you can apply for job opportunities at NASA, and if you are good enough for them, they will hire you.
4. NASA employs other professionals too, such as medical doctors, nurses, and mental health care professionals, researchers, engineers, geologists, microbiologists, and physicists, writers, human resource specialists, and communications professionals, computer programmers and IT specialists.
5. Research the resumes of current NASA employees. One of the best ways to figure out how to get where you want to go is to see how others before you have done it. You can go to the NASA website to read the bios of some of the successful individuals who work there.
