why cutoff for dual degree (b.tech + m.tech) is higher then normal BTech in nits???
The cutoffs for dual degree programs in NITs are quite higher as compared to b.tech programs because the B.tech is a 4 years undergraduate program whereas Dual degree is a 5 years program comprising of B.tech as well as M.tech.
Students usually go less for dual degree courses as they prefer to just complete their Bachelor's degree and then work on a job and if thwy prefer they wish to go for masters from some higher reputed institute or from abroad. But in dual degree courses, students must complete 5 years of course where they complete their Both Bachelor's and masters. The course work for dual degree is a little bit hectic as they have to cover 6 years of course work In just 5 years.
So please think a lot before considering to go for dual degree or Bachelor's. Consider your interests, future goals and then go for a decision.
Hope it helps
hi,
see cutoff score is not always same in all years, it changes year to year as per the students demands, number of applicants, students category, choice of engineering stream etc.
however students who are enthusiastic to go for research based work and wish to pursue phd course chose btech+ mtech dual degree program. so it can not actually predictable that on which year of which stream cutoff score would go higher.
hope you may understand.
Dear Aspirant,
The cut-off of the branches and courses depends upon interests of the students and performance of the college, if any of these factor was in favour of the NIT in question, then this might be the reason for the higher cut off of the dual degree mtech + btech program.
Hope this helps. Thank you.
