Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) releases NIT cutoff scores. The cutoff of NIT is released in the form opening and closing ranks as per the candidate category.
The authorities will consider various factors like difficulty level of exam, number of seats and previous year cutoff trends to determine the JEE Main cutoff for NITs. It must be noted that JEE Main cutoff for NITs varies for all the institutes and will also be different for different programs.

Dear student,

This year for taking admission in nits or iiits or iit, it is not necessary to score 75% aggregate in your class 12th board exams. Just you have to pass your class 12th board exams.

Also if the 75 % passing criteria is removed then also, according to me it will not effect the cutoffs of nits or iits much.
Because in these institutions, the admission is given mainly by jee mains ranks ( for nits, iiits or gftis) or jee advanced ranks (for iits).
There is no relationship between jee mains rank and class 12th passing marks for increment or decrement of cutoffs in nits.

So, the nits cutoff will be nearly as per the previous years cutoff trends or it can increase or decrease according to level of jee mains exam. And for getting admission in nits or iits got have to sit in jossa counseling.
Also the cutoff will depend on number of students that appeared in jee mains 2020 and your category.
