With NEET PG counselling round the corner,I cannot choose between MD internal medicine and MD psychiatry.I seem to be utterly confused.I am getting premier institutes in Psychiatry with my rank(1400 AIR) but state colleges in medicine.Please help.

Yes it is a difficult situation for you to come across. You have great options in both of the field with your rank of 1400.  With that said, i i would say that going for MD psychiatry would be a great option at this point of time. Psychiatry is a speciality on its own and you get to deal with every kind of patients and problems in that. There is a extreme shortage of psychiatric and the pay is too good. You can practice in many places like  inpatient, outpatient, VA, university counseling centers, emergency rooms, medical wards, integrated into other specialty clinics (i.e. OBGYN, pediatrics) and prisons, to name a few. But the last decision will be on what you like better as you will have to go for it for the rest of your life. Choose wisely and best regards
