Starting with what is Biotechnology, it is research oriented field which is applicable in various fields such as medicine, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and environment. Biotechnology is basically to use the biological processes for industrial purposes like the genetic manipulation of microorganisms to produce antibiotics, hormones etc.
To be eligible for Biotechnology, candidate must have PCMB(Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Biology) in the higher secondary. The candidate should have minimum 50% marks in these subject. This is a generic figure. It may vary from University to University. The candidate can then apply for different universities of his/her choice. There are various entrance examinations for getting admission into Biotechnology. Some of them are listed below:
*All India Biotechnology Common Entrance Test(AIBTCET)
*JEE Mains and then after qualifying JEE Advance
*Lovely Proessional University National Entrance and Scholarship Test(LPUNEST)
*Manipal Entrance Test(MET)
The cut off for these examination is dynamic and not known until the result is declared.
