• Admission is based on merit computed on the basis of marks secured in the qualifying examination. The university also conducts interviews of all applicants before admitting the eligible candidates.
• Out of the total intake, 25% seats are allotted to students of Uttarakhand under the State Quota, and the rest are open to students from all over India. In case the allotted percentage of seats ofthe  State Quota remains vacant, it will be filled by All India students.

• The student should have passed B.C.A/ B.Sc. (Computer Science)/ B.Sc. (IT) / B.E. (CSE)/ B.Tech. (CSE) / B.E. (IT) / B.Tech. (IT) or equivalent Degree OR passed any graduation degree (e.g., B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc. / B.Com. / B.A./ B. Voc./ etc.), preferably with Mathematics at 10+2 level or at Graduation level.
• For students having no Mathematics background compulsory bridge course will be framed by the respective University/ Institution, and additional bridge courses related to computer subjects as per the norms of the concerned University.
• Obtained at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to the reserved category) in the qualifying examination.

Passed BCA/ Bachelor Degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent Degree. OR Passed B.Sc./ B.Com./ B.A. with Mathematics at 10+2 Level or Graduation Level (with additional bridge Courses as per the norms of the concerned University). Obtained at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to the reserved category) in the qualifying Examination.
