according to the previous year cut off trends, to get rank under 1000, you marks should be arround to 330 or more than this. tjis data may be vary according to the level of question paper.

According to the CUSAT 2018 prospectus, 5 percent of seats were reserved for B.Tech Marine Engineering (Residential) programme for NRI. There were 4 seats for NRI out of the total 80 seats.
For MSc (5 year Integrated) Photonics Programme, there were 2 seats for NRI.

CUSAT CAT is organized in almost every part of county. So it's a national level examination.
Also, it is not possible to guess exact number of students taking this exam. But approximately, there may be 20k–30k students.
