Goa Common Entrance Test
Hello Rashif, 1213 rank in JCET is not enough to get you a seat in GCET Jammu or GCET Khanderbal if you are from general category. Civil brank has the lowest cutoff while the cutoff increases as you go to electrical, mech, E&C, CSE departments. Past year final round cutoff of different branches in GCET Jammu was:
Civil - up to 200
Electrical- up to 350
Mech, E&C - up to 600
CS - up to 800
Government College of Engineering and Technology - [GCET] is amongst the top ten colleges for engineering education in Jammu. To apply for GCET you need to be among top 600 in JKCET exam. Last year GCET cutoff for JKCET exam was 634. So unfortunately you won't be getting GCET with this score.
hello aspirant,
your score is really good to have a seat in government college of engineering and technology jammu,
however your can also try for mechanical engr, electrical engg. electronics and communication engg, computer science enggr. etc as this has really good placement.
Hello Aspirant,
Please wait till the rank are out as they will determine whether you get a seat or not.
The cutoff is different for different categories and branches. As you haven't mentioned any particular branch or category, so under the general category, the cutoff for different branches will be somewhat like
Electrical - up to 350
Mech. E&C - up to 600
Keep working hard, and with a little bit of smartness, you can easily score a seat in GCET.
Good luck!
Hey there,
The cut off this year is as follows
For UR - 360
For ST SC OBC - 288
For PH - 360(UR), 288(r)
No matter what....you should be a qualified candidate to get a medical seet in any branch
If you are a qualified candidate, you can only get into a deemed university/college with higher fee margins(18lakh+ pa) and that too in the final mop up round (manual round) if at all you get. You need to fill your choices carefully and keep a close watch over the whole counseling process as to when n all the counseling rounds r happening, their reporting time and all.And also you got to check the respective sites of the college for information regarding the manual rounds. Its not gonna be an easy process .You can try for the colleges in South India because they might be charging a high fee but they provide quality education and have proper infrastructure (such as Shree Ramchandra 22lakh +,A few colleges in Kerala, Karnataka and a few in Pondicherry). For more information check the respective sites and last year statistics and you might be able to get an idea.
Hi Shahid, among all the branches in GCET for civil branch it has lowest cutoff. The rank is near about 150-200. So it will have quite possibility of getting civil branch in 1st round. But possibily if not then in next round you will get it definitly.i hope it will help.
Thanks.

Hey Ariven .
If you want to go for Diploma engineering in Agnel Polytechnic there is no need to answer GCET , infact if you have a good 10th standard percentage , you will directly be allowed to attend the college. Minimum Qualification for admission in this college is your standard 10th .
Let me know if you want to know anything about the instuitute , I was the student of same college.
Good luck
