Hello yes the nata exam is compulsory.. otherwise you have option of giving jee mains 2 ..but i would still prefer you to give the nata exam..

SCRA was conducted by UPSC for selection of candidates for appointment as Special Class Apprentices in Mechanical Department of Indian Railways. From 2016, the exam has been discontinued by UPSC.

Getting a seat in any government college with this score might be a little difficult as aggregate qualifying marks is 70. However, you can apply in private colleges.
