Can a student appear for Neet & get MBBS seat if he has passed 10 th class from Open school.

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 19th Aug, 2019
Dear Syed, if you have completed your 10th and are in your 12th, even if you have studied 10th from an Open School, it doesnt matter. What matters is you complete your 10th from a Recognised Institution and complete your 12th with a minimum aggregate of 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology as your core subjects. It is 50% for General Category, 45% for PWD and 40% for OBC/SC/ST. You should be 17 years old atleast by December 31st of the year of admission. If you are planning on taking on NEET, this might help you:

Will neet be conducted twice in 2020 is there any official announcement from NTA yet?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 19th Aug, 2019
Dear Nidhi, MCI is being replaced by NMC. However this will take upto 6 months based on the information released by the Health Ministry. There was also news that AIIMS and JIPMER admissions also will be conducted through NEET abd NEET will bw conducted twice every year as a part of NMC Bill. Considering this is August, and 6 months from now is Feb/March 2020,it is unlikely that there any changes that will be affecting AIIMS 2020 and JIPMER 2020 and NEET 2020. If you are someone planning on taking on NEET, this might help you:

If I have passed 12th STD but im not qualified for neet can I give nios on demand process? This will not be considered as my 2nd attempt?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 19th Aug, 2019
Dear Nishita, this will be considered as your 2nd attempt at NEET. When appearing for NEET, the board you have completed your 10+2 from doesn't really matter as long as its recognised. It is still an attempt at NEET no matter where you have completed your 12th from. If you study at NIOS and appear for NEET, this will be your 2nd attempt. Which is the best study module for neet, Aakash or Allen ? Im confused

Ankhi Banerjee 19th Aug, 2019

Hi,

Both the institutes are pretty good for providing NEET coaching. I have had friends who studied from these institutes, some of them cracked the examination while some did'nt. At the end of the day self-study is important. They will provide you with the best faculty and facilities but you also have to put your efforts to study in order to be selected for the NEET examination.

You can also apply for the talent search exam meanwhile.

How much marks need in neet for admission in aiims Delhi

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 19th Aug, 2019
Dear Shrikant, you havent mentioned your Category. Neverthless, AIIMS doesnt release results in the form of marks. AIIMS MBBS results are declared in the form of percentiles. In 2019, the cut offs have been as follows:
General Category: 98.124
General Category/PWD: 95.293
OBC-NCL: 95.293
OBC-NCL/PWD: 90.203
SC,ST: 90.203
SC,ST/PWD:  82.282
This is 2019 data and cut offs change every year. They are dependant on various factors like no.of candidates appearing for the exam, no.of candidates qualified, top scire and difficulty of the exam. If you are planning on appearing for AIIMS, next year, this might help you:

Main phy mein fail ho gaya & phy mera fourth sub ban gaya!. Aur mujhe NEET 400 (ST) mila.. Kya mujhe govt. Medical college mein seat milega?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 19th Aug, 2019
400 is quite a good score. But unfortunately though you secure a seat in a GMC, because you havent fulfilled the Academic eligibility criteria, you cannot seek admission in any Medical College. Because for you to get a seat in a Medical College, you should have completed your 10+2 without any backlogs. Even if you have had any subject as a backlog, you should have passed in that subject before you secure a seat in MBBS. Now you should first clear your subject and then appear for NEET again.

I am in 3rd year b.com but I have to give improvement exam of last year. Am I eligible to apply for CAT examination

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 19th Aug, 2019
Dear Aman, if you are appearing for improvement exams, it means that you have already passed the subject but are just are rewriting the exams to secure better marks. And if you are in final year, you are eligible for CAT. Candidates who are in their final year of Graduation can appear for CAT. So by 2020 if you are in your final year of Graduation, you are eligible to apply for CAT. By the time of completion of your Graduation, you should have scored a minimum aggregate of 50% if you belong to General Category and 45% if you belong to Reserved Categories. So if you appear for CAT in 2019 and you finish your Graduation by 2020, you can seek admission in 2020 with the help of 2019 score.

My percentage in class 12 was 45% with 58 marks in biology, can u get seat in any medical college if I clear NEET with 400-500 marks?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 21st Aug, 2019
You havent mentioned if your overall 12th percentage is 45 or the aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology is 45% with 58 marks in Biology. For being eligible for NEET, a candidate belonging to ST Category should have completed his 10+2 and score a minimum aggregate of 40% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. For example, you scored good in Physics and Biology but scored pass marks in Chemistry and you reached an aggregate of 40%, you are still eligible for NEET. It is 50% for General Category, 45% for PWD and 40% for OBC,SC,ST. If you have acheived an aggregate of 40% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology and you score good in NEET, you can join a MBBS seat.
