I hv btech in Biomedical and mtech in medical instrumentation. Im extremely instrumentation merchant navy. Im willing to sacrifice another 4yr in marine engineering degree. Am i eligible to enroll another be/btech in marine engineering. Im 23 and medically fit too

Ayshwarya Mahadevan 2nd Dec, 2025

Yes, you are eligible to pursue a second BE/B.Tech in Marine Engineering even after completing your B.Tech in Biomedical and M.Tech in Medical Instrumentation. Marine Engineering admissions focus mainly on Class 12 PCM percentage, age criteria and medical fitness rather than the branch of your previous degree. Since you are 23 and medically fit, you fall well within the required age limit followed by most DG-Approved colleges. However, you will have to join the full 4-year Marine Engineering program because lateral entry is allowed only for candidates with a mechanical or naval architecture background.

After completing the course and mandatory onboard training, you will be eligible to join the Merchant Navy as a marine engineer. So if you’re ready to invest the time and effort, shifting from your current field into a marine engineering career is definitely achievable.

All the best.

In your official page the details of BCA cource is not given ! What I do?

Ayush Madanpotra 24th Jun, 2025

If the official website of the college does not show the details of the BCA course, don’t worry. You can call the college or send them an email and ask about the BCA course details like fees, subjects, and admission process.

If the college is nearby, you can also visit the campus and ask at the admission office.

Sometimes the website is not updated, but the latest information is available in the college brochure or prospectus. You can also check the college’s social media pages like Instagram or Facebook. Many colleges reply quickly there.

In Vellore VIT entrance exam result is 52290 rank slot 3 which courses in BE BTech are available for this rank

Akansha Sharma 23rd May, 2025

With a VIT Vellore entrance rank of 52,290 in slot 3, your chances for popular B.Tech courses like Computer Science, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering are low because these usually require a better rank. However, you can look for other branches like Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Biotechnology. These branches may still have seats available at your rank. It’s best to check the official VIT counselling website for the latest seat availability and options for your rank slot.
