i have a score of 67 marks in clat exam .... bt i dint want to drop this year .... so is the calcutta university good for doing BALLB ??

Rishie Chandan 2nd Jun, 2019

Dear Ujjwal,

Calcutta University, also known as CU, is a college of very high repute. It was established on 24th January 1857. I have studied some reviews about the college and the results weren't too great. There are many answers on social media where its own students wrote badly about CU. But, we can't judge the college solely by this. You may join this college, but i suggest you search for other colleges too.

Hope my answer helped, don't hesitate to ask further doubts.

Difference between biotechnology and biomedical

Nishita Sareen 2nd Jun, 2019

Biotechnology  and biomedical are highly inter-disciplinary branches of study. These specializations can be twisted together, but their scope and applications differ considerably.

Though they are related with each other but the students must understand and compare them very carefully before opting for a career depending upon their areas of interest. If it’s a matter of choosing a career, students must understand at least the basic differences between these two specializations.

Main Difference:

Biotechnology is the use of living systems and organisms to develop or make useful products, or "any technological application that uses biological systems, living organisms or derivatives thereof, to make or modify products or processes for specific use"

Biomedical broadly refers to the application of engineering and technology principles to the domain of living or biological systems.

It is involved in developing innovative biology, materials, processes, implants, devices and informatics approaches for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases, for patient rehabilitation, and for improving health.

hope this answer helps

What should I choose ? BTECH in Biotechnology or BAMS. Considering future scope.

ym.matlani_6504227 Student Expert 12th Jul, 2019

dear candidate,

India is still in a budding stage of biotechnology hence the job prospects are not that high but it is there and more so if you go in south india or out of india. if you are good at maths and want to go in research work then btech biotech is a pretty good option. in bams the study is as rigorous as mbbs but you will most probably have to set up your own practice and a doctor never goes out of business, just it takes a good amount of years to set up and be known in public. rest depends upon you.
