see to study biology as optional subject you need to contact with your school authority, however while studying mpc at your state board you may apply for nios, nios stands for national institute of open schooling and its certificate is accepted in most of the university In India. so

bsc biology is a 3 year ug course related to biodiversity, botany, genetics etc. many colleges accept applicants based on marks obtained in 10+2 but some colleges may conduct an entrance exam for the same. the syllabus includes chemistry, bio-physics, biodiversity, ecology, cell biology, botany,genetics, zoology etc.
