Ive completed my intermediate in 2013 by opting MPC, andhra pradesh board and then Ive graduated from an engineering school in 2017. Now ive a sudden interest in medical field. Do I have an option to take just the biology exams of intermediate now or what option do Ive exactly? elaborate please

Budhan Singh Haiburu 18th Dec, 2019

Hello Dear,

Hope you are doing well.

Yes , you have the option to get in the field of medical even if you have completed your graduation degree in engineering and passed the intermediate exam with PCM.

All you need to do is to reappear for the intermediate exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology and English as your core subjects from any recognized school.

Then you have to appear for the NEET exam because it is the only medical entrance exam to get into any medical college of India. From 2020 all other medical exams has been merged into NEET only which will be conducted by NTA.

The aggregate marks to be required to get eligible for NEET are as follow

UR - 50%

OBC/SC/ST - 40%

PWD - 45%

There is no upper age limit to appear for the NEET so you have enough time to groom yourself for this field. Try to prepare well so that you crack the NEET in the first attempt only.

You have to score a good marks in the NEET to get admission in the top medical colleges of our country.

Hope it helps.

Thanks

I am studying class 12.preparing for neet.I am good in 12th biology.but I didnt prepare for neet sincerely in 11th std.so is it enough to score 300+if I study only ncert of class 11 biology and solve mcqs from mtg book

Ronak Gala Student Expert 6th Nov, 2019

Still a lot of time is left... That is enough of time to score 500+. Because at 300 marks, you cannot get government MBBS BDS colleges. Even BAMS BHMS colleges look difficult. So start making a timetable... And study more and more as much as possible and finish your 11th now also. It's not difficult trust me because if you don't have 11th basics, solving and achieving your 12th std section becomes difficult. If you have any queries regarding a particular subject or chapter, feel free to ask in the comment section.

Best wishes. Thank you.

iammohdshareef 6th Nov, 2019
Hello,
.
Yes, you are eligible. As long back ago new Delhi passed a statement saying NIOS students are also eligible for MBBS as NIOS is a recognised qualification.
.
Look out the eligibility criteria for applying NEET,
  • Candidate must have 10+2 with atleast 50%, 5% relaxation for PWD, 10% relaxation for SC/ST
  • Candidate must have PCB has there subject including English has core subject
  • There's no age limit
  • there's no attempt limitation
.
If something else you haven't understood please ask us for further information. Thank you

is ncert enough for biology? for 2020 neet

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 6th Nov, 2019

Dear Ganesh, every year over 13 lakh students compete for a mere 1 lakh MBBS seats which means you need to do everything exceptional than the rest. Gather your information from more sources, Biology is the biggest section in NEET, comprising about half of the exam, and acing this subject can help you in scoring more in the exam. Human Physiology and Genetics have maximum weightage in NEET. It is advisable to practise questions of Genetics from previous year question papers, which will give you a thorough understanding of how the questions are being asked. Topics of Plant and Animal kingdom have a lot of portion to memorize. You can prepare these topics by making a comparative table for the sub-topics and studying it together. Plant physiology is also equally important and easy to score. For more tips, please visit our page at: https://medicine.careers360. com/articles/how-prepare-for- neet-biology

Sharon Rose Student Expert 4th Nov, 2019

Hello Shubham,

I regret to inform you that with Biology in 10+2 you are not eligible for an officer  which is a technical post. However, you can become a doctor in Armed force, for this you need to appear for NEET and get good rank. The admission done under AFMC.You can also pursue B.sc Nursing in military as you have studied Biology in 10+2.You can only become an officer(technical post) if you have studied Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in 10+2.

I hope this is helpful to you.

if i failed in biology but after improvement i passed with 56 and overall 65 percent can i gave neet?

Ronak Gala Student Expert 4th Nov, 2019
Yes then it's allowed. The elibility criteria says ki candidates must have passed in physics chemistry biology separately and overall PCB for an unreserved general category should be 50% and above and I guess you are fulfilling both these criterias so yes you can give NEET and apply for medical colleges as per your NEET scores.

Best wishes. Thank you.
