In order to take biotechnology how much mark should I get in 12th board exam?

Mohit Gupta 17th Sep, 2020

Hello Aspirant

Hope you are doing well.

If you want to take biotechnology in your graduation, which can be bsc biotechnology or btech in biotechnology then you should try to score maximum marks in class 12th for getting admission into top universities like Delhi University, else you can appear in entrance exams for various universities and can pursue your preferred Course.

Genuine suggestion will be that score 60+ in PCB to be on safe side as many colleges ask for this eligibility.

Yes, youbare surely eligible for appearing in JEE mains 2020 but you not eligible for JEE advance and you are also not eligible for get admission into NITs,IIITs and GFTIs with JEE mains marks because for admission in these college apart from JEE marks one should also have 75% marks in boards (65% for SC ST).You can take admission in other private colleges.

I got 94.5 percentile, 60000 rank in general ,16000 rank in obc ncl and Ive got 71 percentage in 12th board exam. Can I get IIITs in this situation.

Vivek Kumar 8th Nov, 2020

Hi, aspirant, it is good to know that you really have good marks in JEE Mains and on this rank you could have got not IIIT but NIT for sure but since you don't have 75% in 12th so it is not possible fir you to get into any IIIT's or NIT's so the only option is leftvand that is GFTI's and I'm damn sure if uou apply for counselling on this rank you would surely get any if the best GFTI's(Government Funded Technical Instititions) for sure.

Good Luck.

im a pcmc 1st year student .i want to know that what competitive exams i am gonna face after 12th board exam for continuing my engineering stream.

Siddhi Shenoy 24th Oct, 2020

Hi Prajwal,

Since you are a PCMC student and wish to pursue engineering, you will have to undergo some entrance tests depending upon where you want admission:

  • If you want in top national institutes like IIT and NIT, you will have to give an entrance exam called JEE Mains paper-1. You need to get  a very high score which should be 550+.
  • If you want admission in your state engineering colleges, you will have to answer CET or Common Entrance Test conducted after 12th.
  • If you want in colleges like Manipal Institute of Technology or BITS or VIT, you will have to answer the entrance test conducted by them. Note that, if you top in 12th boards, you will be given admission in BITS without any entrance exams.

Going by previous years data, the chances of you securing a seat in various Colleges are as follows:

  • NIFTEM: Food Technology and Management

Private Institutions are:

JIIT

Amity University

Now this is based on 2019 data and cut offs change every year. Cut offs depend on various factors such as total no .of seats available, difficulty of the exam, previous year cut offs, no.of Candidates appearing for the exam and no.of Candidates applying for a course. Hilag Shah 1st Oct, 2020

Dear Aspirant,

Looking at the past year trends and also comparing your score with the trends it is certainly not possible to get admission in Nirma CSE.For SVNIT your board marks are not considered and your JEE Mains marks are only taken into consideration. So I hope you have got some clarity.Your top colleges at this score will be Charusat,SVIT or ADIT college.Best of luck.

401/600 is my keam score when I calculated with my keam score and board exam PCM. What will be my rank and which colleges and courses should I get?

crremyaprasad 15th Sep, 2020
Hello student,
Based on your normalised score you can expect a rank between 7000-12000. By this score you will definitely get admission in government colleges in Kerala except college of engineering trivandrum. You will get admission in thrissur government engineering college but only for production engineering branch.based on previous year cutoff it is hard to get admission for computer science branch in government engineering colleges.but you will definitely get admission for mechanical engineering, electrical and electronics engineering,IT engineering, applied electronics etc.I will mention the name of some of the government engineering colleges that you will get admission below.
  • Government engineering college sreekrishnapuram,palakkad
  • Government engineering college idukki
  • Government engineering college Kozhikode
  • Government engineering college manathavady
  • NSS college palakkad (aided)
  • MAC kothamangalam (aided)
Hope this will help,
Thank you.
