It's definitely not true in all cases because of total variation in Patten of both papers.
The board exams are subjective in nature where as jee is objective.
Board exams along with correct answer demands creativity of expression of the answer which usually leads to more marks

ive given my 12th board exams in 2019 and passed with 67 % so I repeated my year and given exams in all subjects in the year 2020 so will i be able to give jee advance in the year 2021? ps im from state board and not from cbse or isc?

Yes you are eligible to give JEE Examination in 2021.

Candidates who score more than or equal to 75% in 10 + 2 Examination or equivalent.

There is no age limit criteria for JEE Mains.
