what is the fees structure and admission procedure of calcutta University of law college/hazra campus?

pdwords Student Expert 6th Mar, 2022

Hello,

Last year admission for integrated law program that is BA-LLB in Calcutta University of Hazra Campus was done based on the merit of the qualifying examination, no entrance test was conducted, this was perhaps due to the pandemic, however prior to it the admission was done through entrance test for two and half hours for 100 marks in offline mode having sections such as general english, general awareness/current affairs, general maths, verbal and non-verbal reasoning etc, if the situation this year is conducive enough then the university may conduct entrance test, you will get the complete details from the official website only, hence to know the exact information stay updated at http://www.caluniv.ac.in/,

Can i change my stream from physics honours (with maths and chemistry) to computer science after 1st year. I am currently in a college under Calcutta University. If it is possible, then how could I?

Subhrajit Mukherjee 21st Jan, 2022

Nope! The change of stream isn't allowed by the Calcutta University. If you wish to continue with the Computer Science then You have to take admission in the BSc Computer Science from the starting i.e., from the 1st semester. Now if you go for the BSc Physics then also you get quite a wide range of program skills such as Python in the paper of Mathematical Physics in your 1st semester and 3rd semester. In your 4th semester also, there are some complex python coding and data handling in Quantum Mechanics. In your semester 5 you will get quite a good knowledge of simulations using Python in Statistical Mechanics. This courses are quite good and as you learn them you can take admission in the MSc Data Science as well. So if you want you may not change your stream. But if you are not interested in Physics and want to shift, then you can obviously go for the course of BSc Computer Science but you have to take admission in the 1st year.

hey, currently I am in 1st year in Bidhannagar college, West Bengal State University, Kolkata.... so I wanted to know can I change my college in 2nd year in different university? like is it possible to get in Calcutta University in 2nd year or St. Xaviers, Kolkata (autonomous)?

Anurag Khanna 24th Feb, 2022

Hello Aspirant,

See it depends upon the course in which you are enrolled and also on the college in which you are seeking admission. Because in course like B.Tech. there is an option of lateral entry through which you can get direct admission to 2nd year of the program, provided that you must have completed diploma before your first year or as you qualifying examination. As per New Education Policy you are allowed to change course as well as college in mid of the course but it is not yet implemented pan India, so I would recommend you to go through the rules of your college regarding admission withdrawal during the ongoing course.

I hope this information helps you.

Good Luck!!

I have done my HS with 65% marks in the year 2006 and B.Com with 43% from Calcutta University in the year 2009. I want to take admission in LLB course or BA LLB course. Now my age is 35 years. May I get admission in the same course. Please guide. After completion may I get enrolled as an advocate.

Supreme court removes age bar from the law admission in india which is a good news for the students who want to pursue law profession at any age so clearly your age is not an issue in taking admission in law course but your graduation percent is not eligible for 3 year law admission.BAR COUNCIL OF INDIA sets minimum qualifying percent for law is 45% in india.

B.a llb is a 5 year course in which 45% is eligible in hsc.you can take admission in b.a llb through different entrance exam like clat, blat, ETC.i am providing you the link about law course and its entrance exam in india with updated news

can we get b.sc in math in Calcutta University if my percentage in 12th is 80.6% cbse

Moumoyee Chakraborty 22nd Nov, 2021

Dear candidate as we know, Calcutta University is one of the Prestigious Institutions of India, so here usually the marks requirement remain high. For B.Sc Mathematics you need minimum 90% marks to ensure your seat. However since you got 80.6% that too from CBSE board, your chances of admission remain low. But wait for their final list and if seats remain vacant you may get admission. By that time do search for some other good Institutions rather than relying on one college.

Hope it helps!!

Good luck!!
