Central Universities
Hi.
No you do not need to give CAT Exam for admission into UG Courses in a government college.
The Common Admission Test is a computer based test for admission in a graduate management program.
The entrance exam for govt. colleges depends upon the course you wish to get enrolled into, such as, if you want to pursue engineering then you need give JEE Mains exam, if you want to pursue medical sciences then you need give NEET Exam and so on.
If you have a further specific query please feel free to comment.
Best of Luck.
Hello Dear,
The initial recommendations included proposals for conducting the entrance exam twice a year. However, for the 2021-22 academic session, the entrance test is proposed to be conducted once a year. The students will have the option of appearing for the entrance exams for more than a year. The government is planning to implement a Common Aptitude Test for admission in all central universities including Delhi University (DU), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and Banaras Hindu University (BHU).
Good Luck
Hello,
Firstly this is just a speculation, government is still deciding whether to implement it or not.
So please wait till the official announcement is done.
Hopefully this helps!!
Hello there,
The procedure to apply in Central Universities for various undergraduate courses is similar that consists of several steps which I'm listing here below :
Step 1 - Registration of candidate after the release of notification by the University.
Step 2 - Form filling, scanning and uploading of required and relevant documents (For both merit based and entrance based examination).
Step 3 - In case of any entrance examination, downloading of admit card after the release of admit card by the University.
These are the majors steps that one will follow for apply in Central Universities for undergraduate courses. When you will be done with all these steps, the notifications to further admission processes will be released by the respective Universities and you have to follow it for securing a seat.
Thank you.
Hello, the Higher Education Secretary has talked about the common entrance exam for the undergraduate programs which candidates from diverse streams can write. He has quoted the CAT exam in which arts, science, engineering etc. students can write a common exam. Thus NEP is expected to bring out a optional common test for ug admission after its implementation with a prescribed syllabus.
Hope this helps.
Hi
According to Ministry of Education (MoE) sources, students seeking admission in undergraduate courses at central university will have to appear for the common aptitude test (comprising verbal and quantitative ability and logical reasoning), followed by subject-specific tests.
This does not mean that individual tests for taking a specific course will not occur. There is an additional exam i.e. Common Aptitude Test which needs to cleared as a prerequisite.
Hey!
Yes, it is true. National education policy 2020 states that NTA (National testing agency) will work on high quality common aptitude test, as well as some specialized subjects in commorce, arts etc. This test's score/rank would be used to take admission to undergraduate courses into central universities from 2021-2022.
Thankyou

Hello Mohammad Saqib,
There is no information for University of Delhi conducting entrance examination for the merit based courses. So, till now admission will be as usual done on the basis of percentage scored in class 12 for the merit based courses. But for the latest information, it is recommended to visit the official website of Delhi University.
Hope it helps.
Good Luck!
