I would suggest you to daily study about Civil services exams because it is not something you can prepare within few months.

If you want you can do your MA but keep focus on your entrance exam also.

There are two specialization in IIT Dhanbad, Structural Engineering and Environmental Science and Engineering.

Average Package  Structural Engineering is around 7-9 Lacks with L&T being major recruiter. You can also opt for Phd after your Mtech.

CIL is a major recruiter in Environmental Eng.

The placements in NITK is very decent in all the fields. If we particularly talk about the Civil Engineering department then the highest placement is in 2 digit numbers whereas an average can be around 5-6L. There are a lot of companies which come to recruit the students.

Placements for an M.Tech in civil at NITW are overall better than other NITs.
Transportation and Structural branch has good placements (90–100%) every year. Maximum are placed in core jobs in MNCs with package

Placement is good in Structural engineering.Almost 18 students got job out of 20 in 2017–18.
This year zero placement in transportation engineering but it was good last year
Zero placement in water resource,geotech and earth systen science engineering.
In infrastructure and enviromental engineering,1 student got placed out of
