is there any different type of paper for humanities background in cds

Nisha 7th Feb, 2022

hey there

Hope you are doing well

For CDS you have to give exam only for two papers , i.e. English and General Knowledge. The exam will be conducted in offline mode i.e. through pen and paper.

The eligibility criteria for giving CDS exam is graduation , it doesn't matter from which college and by which subject you had done your graduation And  if you had done your 12 standard in humanities stream it doesn't matter.

hope this helps you

difference between cds and ssb

Muskan Shokeen 30th Jan, 2022

Hello Aspirant.

Hope you are doing well.

The difference between cds and ssb are as follows;

CDS = CDS exam is also known as Combined Defence Services Examination and is conducted by the UPSC for recruitment of Commissioned Officers in the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. Unsourced material may be challenged and removed. The Combined Defence Services Examination (abbreviated as CDS Exam) is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment of Commissioned Officers in the Indian Military Academy, Officers Training Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Indian Air Force Academy.

SSB = The SSB exam is an entrance exam for the army, navy and air force. The SSB exam is a written exam and divided into three Phase – Physical Efficiency Test for Phase-1, Written Examination for Phase-II and Trade Test for Phase-III. It is mandatory to clear all three phases. If you are interested to work in the SSB department at the constable post, then you must fulfil the eligibility criteria first.

GOOD LUCK, STAY MOTIVATED AND HOPE THIS HELPS.

Thankyou.

Dear aspirant !

Hope you are doing great ! CDS and nda both are totally different things ,if you get permanent rejection in nda then you don't need to take any kind of stress , firstly work on your fitness or medical health due to which you got reject in nda ,and then immediately start preparing for CDS OTA ,for that complete your graduation first and then apply and please consult to a doctor so that these problems of medical health would not become barrier in your path of success.

Sir I have completed 10+2 humanities(arts) , and I am currently persuing B.A., can I apply for cds IMA plz tell??

piyush singh 28th Jan, 2022

Hello, I hope you are doing well

Yes  a humanities stream student can apply for Combined Defense Service(CDS) Exam. The eligibility criteria to give CDS exam is graduation, so it doesn't matter from which college and by which subject you had done your graduation. So, even if you had done your 12 standard in humanities stream and now you are pursuing B.A. it doesn't matter.

The eligibility criteria for CDS is given below:

  1. Candidates must be settled in India permanently
  2. Candidates must be a graduate or at least in their final year/semester.
  3. The minimum age limit is 19 years
  4. Women candidates are eligible to apply only for OTA.
  5. B. Tech graduates can apply for IMA, INA AFA also.
  6. Candidates must meet the physical standards

For particularly IMA, the criteria is males with Bachelor’s degree in any discipline. So, you can appear for the exam. Good Luck for your preparations.

The link for CDS exam is given below, check it out for any information that you need:

Hope this helps

if I have given this attempt in NDA and got selected and suppose Im now serving in army because I am not from a science background so after some time can I also give afcat or cds to get into Navy or airforce and this whole time I will be serving in army as well so my question is can I do this??

Aditya 12th Jan, 2022

Hi aspirant,

It would not be possible for you to get transferred from Indian army to air force or Navy even after applying for AFCAT or Navy ssr because both of them has physics and mathematics as basic requirement in +2 level. Only NDA gives you an opportunity to join the armed forces directly even you are not from science background.

Hope it helps!!
