Hi,

The CDS Exam is conducted for recruitment to the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), Air Force Academy (AFA), and Officer Training Academy (OTA). Candidates can apply for CDS, but make sure you are completing your degree before the date of joining.

You are currently in your third year of graduation in chemical engineering. Any student of any engineering branch can appear for CDS exam. ... You can appear for CDS when you are in your final year if the degree, that means if you are in a program of 4 years then you can give paper from 7th semester.

Hope this helps

sir I am doing bca from distance education can I apply for cds exam am I eligible?

pdwords Student Expert 26th Nov, 2021

Hello,

If you are pursuing graduation in distance mode from a recognized university, then your degree is valid, and you can definitely appear for CDS exam provided you meet other criteria as well as follows-

Indian Military Academy:

  • Passed graduation in any discipline from a recognized university
  • Age limit to be between 19 to 24 years along with unmarried status

Air Force Academy:

  • Passed bachelor's degree in engineering  or bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university with physics and mathematics at 10+2 level
  • Age limit to be between 19 to 24 years along with unmarried status.

Indian Naval Academy:

  • Passed bachelor's degree in engineering from any recognized university
  • Age limit to be between 19 to 24 years along with unmarried status.

Officer's Training Academy(Men):

  • Candidates need to pass graduation in any discipline from a recognized university,
  • Age limit to be between 19 to 25 years along with unmarried status.

Candidates in their final year of graduation too are eligible to apply provisionally provided there are no backlogs and they can show the proof of the qualifying examination within the prescribed time frame,

hence with BCA you are eligible for IMA/OTA and in case you had studied mathematics at 10+2 level then only for Air Force Academy,

Indian Navy Academy isn't possible as its eligibility criteria is BTech.
