Hi,
Under CDS, female candidates are only eligible for training in OTA(Officers Training Academy, Chennai). So, for OTA the female candidates need to be between 19-25 years of age. Also, the female candidates need to be either unmarried, widow or divorced. While, joining the academy, you must be 25 years of age. So, if during joining time, your age will be more than 25 years of age, you will be no longer eligible.
For AFCAT, female candidates age should be between 20-24 years for sitting into the AFCAT examination. If, you sit for AFCAT, next year, you will not be eligible for it.

Hi Jyoti!
No, it is not necessary! Combined Defence Services Exam is conducted twice a year mostly in February and November. The one coming in February is CDS 1 and the other coming in November is CDS 2.
Both are the same exam dated at different times of the year. So, writing anyone at your convience is enough!
Hope this is helpful!
All the best!
To be eligible for CDS exam the age limit is of 19-25 years and the candidate needs to be a graduate to be eligible to give CDS exam. There is no age relaxation for reserved category candidates in the CDS examination. So if you satisfy the above eligibility criteria only then you will be eligible. Two years gap has nothing to do with the eligibility for CDS exam. Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is the exam conducting body for the Combined Defence Services (CDS) examination.
