Combined Defence Services examination paper has three sections- English, General Studies and Elementary Mathematics. We have last few years' question papers of CDS which you can download from the below link. Try to solve these papers by your own so that you can understand how much prepared you are. Then check your answer with the answer keys. Solving previous year exam papers' help you to understand the exam pattern and what type of questions are actually asked. CDS Syllabus is as follows-

Mathematics

Algebra, Trigonometry, Mensuration, Mean, Median and mode, Time and distance, Number system, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and loss, Allegations, Percentage, Time and Work, Set theory, Clock, Geometry.

English

General English Grammar and Vocabulary, Unseen passage, Cloze test.

for CDS can we prepare only and only from arihant Pathfinder

Arihant's Book is definitely good. You can surely prepare from Pathfinder for CDS By Arihant Experts. But there are other books also you can use for prepare from. For English language and Vocabulary, you can rely on Wren & Martins High School English Grammar & Composition or Word Power Made Easy by Norman Lewis. For general knowledge, Arihant's book is good. You can also prepare from Manorama Year Book. Also read newspapers daily for staying updated regarding current affairs. For Mathematics- Mathematics for CDS preparation by RS Aggarwal or Pathfinder for CDS by Arihant's. Both the books are great. For basics, you can start with your class 5 to 10 maths books. Don't go for a huge number of books, the syllabus is simple so you can prepare from simple books and then give mock tests and solve previous few years' exam papers to boost your preparation.

I have choosen science stream can I apply for cds.and I was 18now wheather I was able to apply now.

Even if you take Science in intermediate you can apply for Combined Defence Services. The minimum eligibility criteria says that, you must have earned a degree from a Recognized university or equivalent. Only Physics and Mathematics at intermediate is required for Air Force Academy. For Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval academy, the candidate's age must be between 19 to 24, for Officers Training Academy, the age must be within 19 to 25 years, and 20 to 24 years for Air Force Academy. Hello,

No candidates who didn't apply for CDS 1 can apply for CDS 2 there is no such rule that only those candidates who applied for CDS 1 can apply for CDS 2. For different courses the age criteria is different. For Indian Military Academy (IMA) and Indian Naval Academy (NA) the age limit is 19 to 24 years, For Air Force Academy (AFA) the age limit is 20 to 24 years and for Officers Training Academy the age limit is 19 to 25 years. Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts CDS for candidates who wish to pursue their career as commissioned officers in Navy, Air Force and Army after graduation or candidates appearing in their final year.

can I become apply for CDS exam for Air Force academy if I got 55% in class 12 this 55 % came because of covid our NIOS board exams got cancelled and every one got between 50 to 60% of marks though I have 84 % in class 10.. now I will apply for graduation my target is CDS after graduation dats y

can I apply for CDS exam for Air Force academy if I got 55% in class 12 th ??

Hello student,

Actually only e after you complete your ten plus two level u can not go for CDS examination you have to complete your graduation. And actually in reality your 10 plus two level marks does not matter to be eligible for this examination. But you should have a solid reason to get this marks, because you may have to you tell about that in SSB interview.

Hello Aspirant,

UPSC CDS examination is conducted by UPSC twice a year to recruit young officers in indian armed forces Army,Navy & Air force.

Main eligibility for CDS is graduation in any stream and there is not any percentage bar as well.

NO,as per educational qualification you can not apply being 2nd year student however in 3rd year you can apply as appearing candidate.

Im a 5 March 1997 born can i apply for CDS Air Force or AFCAT?

Hi Bharat,

As per the latest eligibility criteria of CDS 2020, the candidates between 20 to 24 years are eligible to give this exam.

You are 23 now and you are going to be of 24 years on 5 March 2021, so you are eligible for the respective exam in each and every course ranging from IMA to OTA.

Is the syllabus of general knowledge for NDA and CDS same???I did my general knowledge classes for Nda...Is it enough for cds exam.

Hey!

Both exams have diffence of mathematics sections. Also, nda is based on 10+1 and 10+2 syllabus whereas CDS is undergraduation based. However both have a section of general knowledge, which is almost same in both exam, but the pattern of asking questions may vary. So it is advisable to check some of the previous years papers.
