my dob is 29 August,1996 may i eligible for 2021 cds exam??

Anurag Khanna 26th Jul, 2020

Hello Aspirant,

Till now UPSC has not released the eligibility criteria of CDS 2021 so it is little bit difficult to guide you accurately. However I can help you with eligibility criteria of CDS 2020 so that you can get an idea. UPSC Combined Defence Service 2020 eligibility criteria consist of age limit, nationality and educational qualification. As per the CDS exam eligibility 2020, Indian nationals having an age between 19- 25 years are eligible for the exam.

But apart from the above age limit candidates born not earlier than January 2, 1996 only are eligible for CDS 2020 but as you are inquiring for 2021 so there will be increase of a year so that date will become January 2, 1997. So you will not be eligble according to this years' eligibility criteria. But there is no assurity of 2021 eligibility criteria of CDS because it has not been released yet.

I am completed my bachelors in 2018 right now i am 24 and want to apply for CDS 2 OTA 2020 Non-tech my birthdate is 12-5-1996 am i eligible?

saurabhkhade4699 22nd Jul, 2020
Hello Shagun,

I would Firstly tell you that you are eligible for OTA for and this attempt because you would turn 25 and that's the last age eligible for OTA. For OTA you need any degree from college that's the eligibility and if you were in NCC and have B and C certificate you have to directly give SSB Interview no exams for NCC Cadets and if Not you have to Give CDS exam in this November and you have to touch the cut off and crack the SSB interview and there you are in OTA.

why there is mathematical exam in CDS for addmission in IMA and no mathematics exam in CDS for admmision in OTA

Sahil Kaushal 17th Jul, 2020

Hi N Rahim Kumar,

IMA trains officers for a long 20 year assignment with Indian army. OTA trains men and women officers for short service commission. Also its kind of option to the people who didn't studied mathematics as their main subject during school days to get into defence forces.

if you want to spend twenty years as an officer, opt for IMA. Its in Dehradun. But if you want to experience a short term with army and then decide whether you want to extend subsequently, OTA will be your option.

can humanities stream in plus two will attended the cds exam after 12th

S. Saha Student Expert 16th Jul, 2020
There are certain segments in CDS- Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Air Force Academy, Officers' Training Academy - Men and Women. And the eligibility criteria is different for different streams. For IMA, INA and OTA men and women, the minimum educational qualification required is Degree in any discipline from a recognized university. For Air Force, a degree from a recognized university of degree in Bachelor of engineering is required. And also the candidate must have studied maths and physics at intermediate level. The age limit is also different for different streams. The candidates who are interested in IMA, INA, their age must be within 19 to 24 years. For Air Force, the age limit is 20 to 24 years and for candidates interested in OTA, their age must be within 19 to 25 years. In order to appear for CDS, you need to qualify your under graduation first. So if you have studied Humanities in +2, you need to complete your bachelor's degree. There is no barrier in course programme. It can be any discipline. It's only different for AFA. http://competition.careers360.com/articles/cds-eligibility-criteria
