Well dear the best known books for CDS and AFCAT are the following :

1)Polity-Lakshmi Kant or PM Bakshi

2)Geography-Class 9-12 NCERT is more than enough.

3)Economics-You may read NCERT for just idea,as questions are normally not asked from here and If asked

Information about the exam:

There are three exams each of 2 hours.

All the three exams are conducted on the same day.

You have to prepare three subjects i.e. English, General Knowledge and Mathematics.

There are 120 questions of English, 120 questions of G.K. and 100 questions of Mathematics.

In defence examinations reservations are not considered.The official cut off is not yet out but the expected cut off is as follows for each academy

• AFA:132-135
• IMA:114-116
• INA:103-105
• OTA(men):84-86
• OTA(women); 83-83

So there are less chances to qualify.However, cut off is subjected to change it may increase or decrease
