If you are interested you can write AFCAT exam for Indian air-force on successfully clearing that you exam you are called for SSB . For army you can write CDS in your final year and also after completion of your degree you get a chance for SSB of armed forces

Well dear the best known books for CDS and AFCAT are the following :

1)Polity-Lakshmi Kant or PM Bakshi

2)Geography-Class 9-12 NCERT is more than enough.

3)Economics-You may read NCERT for just idea,as questions are normally not asked from here and If asked

Information about the exam:

There are three exams each of 2 hours.

All the three exams are conducted on the same day.

You have to prepare three subjects i.e. English, General Knowledge and Mathematics.

There are 120 questions of English, 120 questions of G.K. and 100 questions of Mathematics.

In defence examinations reservations are not considered.The official cut off is not yet out but the expected cut off is as follows for each academy

• AFA:132-135
• IMA:114-116
• INA:103-105
• OTA(men):84-86
• OTA(women); 83-83

So there are less chances to qualify.However, cut off is subjected to change it may increase or decrease

You can apply for CDS if you have completed your graduation.

The university from which you hold a degree must be a recognised University then you are eligible to appear for CDS.

If your university is a UGC-recognised one, then you are definitely eligible for the CDS exam.

Although you have Spectacles, but that will never affect your eligibility towards any exams. So no need to panic about anything and -2.5 is just a mere number, because I too have same problem of Myopia. You can apply any exams you want. Feel free and don't worry.
