Hello

It is great that you want to prepare for cds and afcat while doing graduation. Therefore first you should get familiarized with the syllabus and pattern of exam. You can refer the below link for details

You can then start with basic reasoning and maths practice daily and periodically solving test papers including previous year papers.

Apart from this you should regularly be in touch with national and international happenings through any medium of your preference like news paper, website. Also don't forget to work on your physical strength and stamina as written exam is only the first stage, to get finally selected you have to pass the SSB.

The educational qualification for eligibility to Central defense service exam that is CDS exam is

The candidate should be graduate or appearing in the final year of the  same is eligible to apply for CDS exam.

So if you are in final year of your graduation you can apply to this exam.

sir/mam,i am a b pharmacy student how to join indian army as a officer without cds exam ?

Dear Shivam , I admire  your desire to become an officer Indian Army.

You can get commissioned in Indian Army after doing b Pharmacy , only if you clear CDS examination.

Without giving CDS examination you can get other jobs in Army but if you want to become a commissioned officer then you have to give CDS  exam.

Following are the  conditions to be eligible to give CDS exam

Eligibility:

Graduate degree holder or a final year graduation student from a recognized University..It could be any degree

Your age should be between 19 to 25 years.


Selection process:-

The selection procedure will involve-
(a)Written Exam
(b)SSB and Medical Examination.

If a candidate qualifies in both examinations , then and a merit list is prepared based on the marks of written and medical test.

Candidates who who appeared in the merit list go through training

B. SC Certificate of distance education is valuable for CDS??

You should check this with UGC guidelines, if this fulfills UGC guidelines and approved by UGC then it is helpful for you in CDS exam. For CDS exam you must have a graduation certificate from any recognised university/ institution. Once you have this you can apply for Army Navy and air force. If you are appearing for final year then also you can apply. But you must be able to produce documents of qualifications before the authority in given time.

UPSC has released the CDS 1 exam 2020 notification on its official site upsc.gov.in (http://upsc.gov.in/) .

CDS Exam 2020 will be conducted by UPSC for the recruitment of 418 posts :

Indian Military Academy,

Indian Naval Academy,

Air Force Academy and

Officers Training Academy ( male & female ).

The CDS exam date 2020 is announced and as per the notification, the CDS 1 2020 exam will be conducted on 2nd February 2020 for English, General Knowledge and Maths papers.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria before applying for CDS 1 2020 examination. Candidates should fulfil the eligibility criteria of UPSC CDS exam at the following levels:

1. Nationality

A candidate should be:

The Citizenship of India, or

The subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or

Tibetan refugee who had been migrated to India before January 01, 1962 with the intention of Permanent Settle, or

An individual of Indian Origin migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Malawi, Zambia, Zaire & Vietnam for permanent settle purpose in India.

2. Age Limit

The aspirants can check the age limit of CDS (I) 2020 exam for various posts in Combined Defence Services from the table below:

which books are best for cds and afcat?

Hello dear student,

I would suggest you to buy a general knowledge book which is that will help you with the GK questions. And then you should buy a book of reasoning and aptitude pictures that will help you to improve your aptitude questions. Why you asking for a book then I would like to recommend you pathfinder CDS it is one of the best books you can and have for the preparation. While for afcat you can buy Aarihant's afcat book for preparation. I hope this was helpful to you.

yes you may apply in cds if you become eligible in education and age criteria.

age limit is 24 or 25 years old according to post wise. you may apply in Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (NA), Air Force Academy (AFA), Officers' Training Academy (OTA - Men), Officers Training Academy (OTA - Women, Non-Technical).

hi,

cds exam happens twice a year. the following age criteria is applicable to appear in cds exam:

For Indian Military Academy (IMA), unmarried candidates born not  before than January 2, 1997 and not later than January 1, 2002 can only apply.

For Indian Naval Academy (IMA), unmarried male candidates born not earlier than January 2, 1997 and not later than January 1, 2002 are eligible.

for Air Force Academy candidate should be between 20 to 24 years as on January 1, 2021 (born not earlier than January 2, 1997 and not later than January 1, 2001).

For Officers’ Training Academy (SSC Course for men), unmarried male candidates born not before than January 2, 1996 and not later than January 1, 2002 are eligible for the exam.

For Officers’ Training Academy (SSC Women Non-Technical Course), candidates should be unmarried and born not earlier than January 2, 1996 and not later than January 1, 2002.

so you are not eligible for any of the post as per age criteria.
