Due to less no. of students appeared in jee mains this year and also increased competition (since corona gave extra time for preparation) , how can the cutoff rank (closing rank) for colleges can change ?

Nikhil 18th Sep, 2020

Due to this pandemic, students got a lot of time for preparation and results 24 students getting 100 percentile. So this is true that this year there is a tough competition for councelling in JOSSA. If you want to know what are the expected opening and closing ranks could be in 2020, so just subtract 70 in each opening and closing rank and you will see where can you stand. I'm saying this because if you prepare for worst then you can get best.

Here is the link for last year opening and closing rank for admission in engineering colleges,

as now 70 and 30% quota of maharashtra is cancelled will competition in admission and gsmc will get tougher?550 to 575 is ok or not for sc???

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 14th Sep, 2020

Cut offs change every year depending on various factors such as no.of Candidates appearing for the exam, no.of Candidates qualified, top NEET score and difficulty of the exam. And with the 70-30 quota being removed from this year for admission to Medical Colleges, it is difficult to predict what the cut offs might be. But yes a score of 550-575 under SC Category should be a decent score for GSMC.  For complete list of colleges that you may have a shot at, please use our College predictor: https://medicine.careers360.com/neet-college-predictor?

PL enlighten me on fwg issues on IPM Entrance exam for IIMs. 1. What is the level of difficulty and competition, is it at par with JEE 2. how many vacancies available for Gen cat student. 3. where is the best Coaching available for this exam. regards

Hello Yuvi!!

First of all I will like to mention that it's not appropriate to compare two different streams together. JEE is for Btech or BE and IPMAT is conducted for the five year integrated programme for admission in IIM Indore. Yes, talking about syllabus and competition, it is more for JEE exams but on the other hand for IPMAT the syllabus is quite short and easy.

Total Number of seats is 120 for IPMAT. The number of seats for general students has not been specified.

And regarding coaching please mention whether you need to know about online or offline coaching and if offline please do mention your location.

Here I am attaching the link for more information on JEE and IPMAT exams. For more detailed information you can go through it as well.

Will the competition be high this time in jee mains...so what about the students which have given exam in Jan attempt for them also competition will be high.

Suvangi Pathy 2nd Sep, 2020
Hello aspirant, your AIR(All India Rank) will depend upon your final percentile which is the best of the two percentiles you got in jee main-1 and jee main-2.If you appear only for jee main-1 or jee main-2 then that percentile will be your final percentile and CRL is prepared based on the percentiles.Coming to competition, this may be high this year because of the extra months students got for preparing jee main 2.But if you have prepared well, nothing to fear.
Hope for the best,good luck!

will there be a righ rise in cutoff and competition in neet 2021 (considering the corona pandemic and reduced syllabus)

Naman Raturi 1st Sep, 2020

Hello There ,

Your assumption is correct , as this year many students would drop and start preparing for next year exam which would definitely increase the total number of candidates .

Also it has been a general trend that the cutoff has been increasing every year for both all India colleges and state government colleges . Also if the reduced syllabus is taken into consideration there could be increased cutoff and competition .

Either way you should keep your preparation strong and not think about these things , just focus on your preparation and give your exam with full strength and confidence .

Hope it helps and all the Best for your future endeavors .

What is the minimum score required to get under 10k rank in jee mains 2020 September because the competition is relatively high?

NILUTPOL Student Expert 31st Aug, 2020
Hello,
To get a rank of around 10000 in JEE Mains, you must score more than 175 marks in the JEE Mains paper 1 out of 300. In terms of percentile, your percentile score must be above 99.00 to have a rank of around 10000.
This year, due to the current pandemic, JEE Mains session 2 was postponed a lot and finally it will be conducted from September 1 st to 6th September, 2020.
All the best for tomorrow. Give your 100% effort in the exam.
Along with your JEE Mains 2020 admit card, you need to carry a passport size photograph of you and a valid government identity proof.

What will be the apppxoimate marks for 95 percentile in JEE mains, looking at the competition now?

praava.lika2000 27th Aug, 2020
Hello Learner,
There are no perfect score which can fetch you 95 percentile. But if pattern changes and previous pattern returns then about 120 -130 marks out of 360 will fetch you  as 95 percentile yields you this rank roughly. I had scored 136 marks in my January attempt of JEE Mains last year and had got 95.883percentile.
Hope it helps...All the best!!
