computer science and engineering Vs computer science and business system

Purbayan Chatterjee 1st Sep, 2021

Hi Uday,

Both Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Computer Science and Business System (CSBS) are good, to begin with.

However, while CSE is age old tested, CSBS is comparatively newer. Although new, it is a revolutionary branch in engineering. Some key features pertaining to CSBS over CSE can be stated as follows:

  • The syllabus of CSBS is more practical oriented which most of the MNCs require.
  • Both the syllabi of CSE and CSBS are quite similar. Only the differences lie in the fact that some engineering topics of other domains (like EEE, ECE) which are included in CSE has been replaced by Business topics like Statistics and like in CSBS.
  • The course is designed in such a way that skilled engineers and not bookworms are produced, which make you stand out from the crowd of CSE students.
  • If you choose to pursue an MBA later on in life, you will have an upper hand than the other engineering aspirants.

For all these reasons, I feel CSBS will be a better choice.

Hope this was helpful.

Ketaki Dhotre Student Expert 30th Aug, 2021

Dear,

Fee structure is feasible and about 15710 per year. The course is about 4 years. The hostel charges are separate. Overall the fee structure is not so much and not so less. The faculties are much qualified, the process of their teaching also very good and simply understandable. They are very helpful and friendly. They give you theoretical as well as practical knowledge too.

Hope this helps!

tecno batanagar affliated to AICTE delhi and makaut University ( west bengal) . can a student passing btech computer science and engineering from this college can give gate exam ? please reply

Purbayan Chatterjee 28th Aug, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

Two basic criteria for GATE examinations are as follows:

  • Candidates must have passed graduation in engineering/technology or Master’s degree in any relevant science subject.
  • Candidates in pre-final or final year of their qualifying degree are also eligible to appear for GATE.

Now, there are other criteria as well which you can check by by clicking here . But mostly you'll fulfil them. If you fulfil the above-mentioned criteria as well, you can very well appear for the GATE Exam. Passing your B.Tech from Techno Batanagar wouldn't affect you giving GATE.

Hope this was helpful.

Hi i Actually wanted to Know...Studying in VIT ...is it worth.. is it better if we take Hostel or take a house nearby I got Computer Science and Engineering with Specialization in bioinformatics..is it good? With this branch Can I join Microsoft , Cisco and other Big IT Companies??

ginnisachdeva02_9364270 Student Expert 25th Aug, 2021

Hi Nikilesh!

VIT is popular for its placement records especially for CSE department. As you mentioned that you have been allotted a seat in bioinformatics branch. There are many companies which visit the campus for computer science engineering bioinformatics placement process and they are as follows:
Accenture ; Amazon ; Ashok Leyland; Bank of America; Blue Star; Capital IQ; Cisco Systems; Cognizant; Deloitte ; Ebay; Ericsson India; Ford Motors; GODREJ; Google ; HONEYWELL; HP ; Intel ; Microsoft; Oracle; PayPal ; PayU ; Shopclues.Com ; Snapdeal ; TCS; Wipro etc. with average salary package of 5-6 LPA and highest salary package upto 21 LPA.

VIT hostel facilities are up to the mark from mess, hygienic food, cleanliness, sports facilities, study area/common room to washrooms. And students are allowed to choose campus hostels. If you wish to take campus hostel then you can do so, but if you wish to take any other private hostel, PG or flat outside the campus hostel then it is your choice. Charges of private hostels are less than that of campus hostels.

Thankyou!

ayanmukherjee045 23rd Aug, 2021

Dear aspirant,

The placement scenario of all techno India branches do not occur at the same campus and the placements at the main campus salt lake is best of all campuses. Companies like Capgemini, wipro, tcs,Infosys, Accenture, ibm comes for its recruitment.

But for other campuses the placements are not so good. Many you will get to see bulk hiring companies coming for recruitment.
