csab closing rank and opening ranks

pandeyadarsh951 20th Dec, 2021

You can get information about opening and closing ranks of csab on the official website of csab. On the website you have options of viewing opening and closing ranks of past 3-4 years consecutively which will give a rough idea of which college you might get in the current csab counselling although opening and closing ranks give only an idea but you cannot be assured to get a seat just by matching your rank with past years ranks.

MY Sc rank is 8505 and CRK rank 167129, can I get any of CS, IT, Electrical or Electrical and communication in any NITS In CSAB 2021? I am really confused, please answer.

Sharon Rose Student Expert 16th Nov, 2021

Hello,

Considering the previous year cut off it is quite difficult to get seat in the preferred courses in NITs through CSAB counselling. However,  you have chances of getting seat other branches in the following NITs

  • National Institute of Technology Durgapur: Bio Technology
  • National Institute of Technology Agartala: Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering
  • National Institute of Technology Agartala: Chemical Engineering
  • National Institute of Technology Nagaland: Civil Engineering

This is based on round 2 CSAB counselling. The cut off changes every year depending on the total number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of examination and total number of seats available etc.

To check the previous year cut off click on the link given below

i got seat in josaa in 1 round but i want to withdraw from josaa in 5 round. now, after withdraw 1. can i participate in csab round? 2. can i again eligible for jee mains next year?

Aditya 16th Nov, 2021

Hi aspirant,

For appearing in CSAB counselling, one needs to fulfill the below mentioned criteria:

  • Candidates should have a valid JEE Main rank.
  • The JoSAA 2021 eligibility criteria have to be met by candidates.
  • Those candidates who participated in JoSAA 2021 but who were not allotted any seat will be eligible for CSAB 2021 special round.
  • It should be noted that those candidates who opted not to participate in the special round after JoSAA will not be eligible for CSAB 2021 special round admission procedure.
  • Candidates who are allotted seats through JoSAA 2021 but did not accept or cancelled the e allotted seat will also be eligible for CSAB 2021 special round..

Since you have withdrawn from the seat alloted to you through JoSSA counselling, you can participate in CSAB counselling process.

Now coming to the question over JEE main, if you have completed your senior secondary education in year 2020/21 then you can appear for JEE main 2022 as current eligibility criteria say that a candidate can appear for the examination in three consecutive years starting from the year he or she appears for the board examination.

Hope it helps!!

Can I withdraw after the 6th round of JoSAA counselling? And will I get refund for the NIT+system of 35k? Also can anybody explain how to participate for Csab rounds through josaa and whether I would get the refund of the partial admission fees of 40k and the earlier fees of 35k after csab round 2?

pandeyadarsh951 19th Jan, 2022

If you have to participate inn csab then do not withdraw from josaa as whatever fee you would have paid as seat acceptance that will be carry forwarded and in csab you will just have to pay the registration fee only and you will be able to participate in csab also if you get a  seat then no more fee has to be paid in your case and you can either accept or withdraw in 1st round but in second round you will have to accept only and you will have no other option and you asked about withdrawal from josaa round 6 then you cannot do so as if you decide not to join then your fee will not be refunded.
