I am a neet 2020 aspirant and my marks according to official answer key are 639 , is there any chance of getting "Seth GS College ,mumbai " ,through state counselling , maharashtra domicile and EWS category ?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 15th Oct, 2020

We do not have 2019 EWS data but in 2019 under State Quota, 644 marks secured a seat in Seth Medical College under General Category. So with 639, you do have chances for a seat in this College. Having said that, this is based on 2019 data and cut offs change every year. Cut offs change every year depending on various factors such as no.of Candidates appearing for the exam, no.of Candidates qualified, top NEET score and difficulty of the exam. i have written my category as gen in neet 2020 but i am from obc. can i make corrections now for the councelling process ( i have delhi domicile ) will the category certificate help me get the reserved seat???

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 15th Oct, 2020

Aisha, if you have selected General Category as your Category while filling the NEET application form, correction window is your last chance to make corrections to it. One the correction window has passed, unfortunately you cannot make any changes to the NEET application form and neither can you attend the Counselling with a different Category. NTA has been clear about that part. So unfortunately even if you belong to OBC, because you selected General Category as your Category during NEET application form, you cannot change it OBC during Counselling. The last chance for you was the correction window.

when exactly one person will know that in which college of his own state domicile will he get a seat?

Shefadaar 15th Oct, 2020

Hello there!

In order to know the college in which you have been allotted a seat, you must have to wait for the counselling results announcement. Colleges are allotted on the basis of choice filled by you and marks scored by you in the qualifying exam.

Seat allotment result is published by the counselling committee where you can find the details regarding the college you have been allotted.

Anurag Khanna 23rd Nov, 2020

Hello Aspirant,

On such marks and category you have good chances of getting some government medical colleges in Delhi under state quota according to previous year's cut-off. As we go through previous year's cut-off then it shows that you can get following colleges :-

  • Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi
  • Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences, New Delhi(for BDS)

And some more. You can check out previous year's cut-offs from the link given below :-

Note that the above prediction is made on the basis of previous year's cut-off and the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors such as the number of candidates appearing in an examination, the number of candidates qualifying an examination, difficulty level of the paper, and so on.

To have a list of all those colleges which you can get based upon your marks, category, and state you can use NEET College Predictor because it will make you comfortable while choice filling in counselling :-
