how much percentage should one get in order to get into nit??

Anurag Khanna 9th Mar, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

See there is no any minimum percentile required to be eligible for admission in NITs for any category because the seat allotment process is based on the rank of candidate but if you are General candidate and wants to get into any NIT then you should at least try for 96-98 percentile in JEE-Main 2021 . See the qualifying cut-off percentiles which needs to be cleared by any candidate to sit in JEE-Advance is released along with the final result of JEE-Main and for JEE-Main 2021 the final result will be released after all four attempts will be completed and the final result will be on the basis of your best score amongst different attempts. However basis on previous year's cut-off trends we can help you with the expected qualifying cut-offs for this year :-

  • Common Rank List (CRL) - 90- 95 Percentile
  • GEN-EWS - 70- 75 Percentile
  • Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL) - 70- 75 Percentile
  • Scheduled Caste (SC) - 50- 55 Percentile
  • Scheduled Tribe (ST) - 40- 45 Percentile
  • PwD - 1-2 Percentile

Note that in above table it is not the actual cut-off for JEE-Main 2021 but expected on the basis of previous year's analysis. You can check out previous year's cut-off trends from the link given below :-

How many marks should be in JEE Main (March) 2021 to get more than 99 percentile in OBC category? Plz

Sowmya Konkala 6th Mar, 2021

hello aspirant,

As of now its tough to estimate what is the exact mark you need to get more than 99 percetile but based on previous year analysis we will help you.each year the cutoff changes due to many factors like total students appearing for exam, difficutly level etc factors so note that as each year it changes so are your chances into colleges.now to fetch a percentile more than 99 you need a minimum of 180+ CONSIDERING IF THE PAPER IS MODERATE.and scoring more than 180 makes it easier even if the cutoff rises.so target high and work for it.for more information you can refer to: https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor/result

hope this helps,

thankyou.

Sir/ Madam, I am currently pursuing my Btech in Electrical Engineering from NIT Jalandhar. However, I wish to get into the field of Journalism and Media. What shall be the ideal approach to kickstart a professional journey...online courses, internships and study materials etc?

Aditi amrendra Student Expert 26th Feb, 2021
Hello,

Well the good news is that yes you can pursue Journalism as a career after engineering.
Graduates in any discipline, including engineeringand technology, can pursue Journalismcourse. To make a good career as a journalist, you must have qualities like flair for writing, presentation and communication skills, extensive reading, an analytical mind, a keen sense of observation, presence of mind and most importantly courage.

After completing engineering, you can do a Masters and postgraduate diploma course in Journalism and Mass Communication and this will help you to enhance your skills in print and electronic journalism, development communication, communication research, advertising and public relations etc. Apart from that keep reading articles, magazines, newspapers etc.

I hope this helps.
