Which would be more helpful if i want an Mtech degree in aerospace engineering, a Btech in mechanical engineering, or one in electrical and electronics engineering (EEE)?

tinni.chats 15th Sep, 2020

Hello there

According to me, if you are very passionate about doing M.Tech in Aerospace Engineering, you can do B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering first. Doing a B.Tech course in Mechanical is going to help you alot in knowing alot of concepts that you will be needing in Aerospace engineering. Although both the fields are not entirely or even nearly same, they compliment each other well, which means doing mechanical and then opting for aerospace is definitely going to be easier and profitable for you.  But then ofcourse, for the M.Tech course you need to clear GATE exam with good marks and then apply for aerospace, kudos if you can get into the best colleges like IITs.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

Which is easier, mechanical or electrical and electronics engineering (EEE)? Also, if i want an Mtech in aerospace engineering later, a Btech in which one would be more helpful?

Nikhil 14th Sep, 2020

Nothing is impossible to achieve so don't you worry about the subject and judge how hard or easy it is. Just go with your choice, find what you are most interested in and in which field I want to do job in future. Choose that subject and then finally you have goal, ambition and will power to achieve your aim so nothing will be hard for you then, I guarantee.

So your aim is to become aerospace engineer, and I guess that is your dream job. So to become an aerospace engineering a very few colleges are in India but they don't have good teaching technology and can't get your dream job. So you choose mechanical engineering and then apply for M.Tech in aerospace engineering in Germany (there is a program you can find easily on internet). Because Germany is the best place in world for aerospace engineering, you can learn and apply your skills & you have various growing opportunities there.

I want a masters degree in aerospace engineering. Then, which would be better, a bachelors degree in mechanical or electrical and electronics engineering?

Kasturi Danekar 14th Sep, 2020

Hello Sachin,

Hope you are doing well.

If you intend to pursue a masters in Aerospace Engineering, it would be suggested that you can pursue your bachelors in aerospace engineering itself, as you will get a strong foundation on the basics of the subject, which will help you in your masters. A bachelors in aerospace engineering is bound to be more beneficial than an electrical or electronics engineering degree in your case.

Hope this answers your query!
