It totally depends on the number of candidates who have applied for the seat and their score. The trends can only give you a blurred picture as the marks and margin keeps changing every year. You haven't mentioned which exam you are talking about but this is common

Anna university conducts two exams for admission , one is TNEA and second is TANCET. Since you have not mentioned the concerned exam , so i am providing you the information based upon both the exams..if it TNEA , then you do not have any chances..you can check

EIE is, you are right, very theory based subject, the core subjects of measurements and instruments are 95 % theory but are very interesting. The control part (which is common with ECE) is mathematical cum concept based.
