I have an OBC rank of 2143 in JEE Advanced 2018. I want to know, in what IITs I can get engineering Physics? Please help.

Prashant Chaudhary 12th Jun, 2018
Hii kushagra,
At this rank and by last year statistics you can get engineering physics at IIT guwahati and IIT(ISM) dhanbad.
You can also get integrated M.Sc. in physics at IIT Kanpur.
Other good options are also available.
Good luck...

I have scored 187 in JEE Advanced 2018. Can I expect to get Aerospace Engineering or Engineering Physics. Pl advise

Akshay Kadam 8th Jun, 2018

Rahul with your 187 marks in JEE Advanced 2018 exam according to last year marks vs rank distribution you will get a rank around 8400-8500 but as this time according to experts this was a flawless question paper with a little more difficult so it is expected that the cut-off will fall down and which will make you get a little better rank with 187 marks. So, you can expect a rank to be around 6500-7000 with this score.

Now below I am mentioning the cut-offs of last 2 years of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Physics

IIT Kharagpur

Aerospace Engineering

  • 2017 closing rank: 3451
  • 2016 closing rank: 4033

IIT Madras

Aerospace engineering

  • 2017 closing rank: 2995
  • 2016 closing rank: 3251

Engineering Physics

  • 2017 closing rank: 2166
  • 2016 closing rank: 2274

IIT Bombay

Aerospace engineering

  • 2017 closing rank: 2036
  • 2016 closing rank: 1841

Engineering Physics

  • 2017 closing rank: 1223
  • 2016 closing rank: 1843

IIT Kanpur

Aerospace engineering

  • 2017 closing rank: 3053
  • 2016 closing rank: 2988

IIT Roorkee

Engineering Physics

  • 2017 closing rank: 4037
  • 2016 closing rank: 4345

IIT Delhi

Engineering Physics

  • 2017 closing rank: 2433
  • 2016 closing rank: 2809

So with cut-off variation, you can see that you will need to atleast get the rank in top 3500 in order to secure one of the two branches in any of the IIT. So, it will be very difficult for you to catch up any of the branches.

Feel free to ask if you have any more queries. All the best!!
