I m sorry to say but you are not eligible for the entrance exams for MA English in du as its eligibility criteria demands at least 60% aggregate. JNU also accepts only applications of students with a minimum of 50% aggregate.

In Merit-based courses, The admission in government colleges is done through a cut off system.

The students whose percentage of best four subjects matches or is higher than the cutoff, gets the admission.

English is always counted/ taken while calculating the best four percentage whatever course it is.

Congrats on your score. Sorry to say but you have no chance to get in to Delhi University. You need atleast 75% to get into the same. Please try for any Private college as they allow the students with 60% to fill the forms.

For science courses, the cut-off in Delhi University is calculated by Best Of 3 subjects and for life science, only the science subjects are included which means your best of 3 will be calculated by adding the marks of Physics, chemistry and biology/biotechnology (from 100) and divided by
