IIT (ISM) Dhanbad Environmental Engineering or IIT Patna Metallurgy or IIIT Pune CSE?

Nitya 23rd Oct, 2020
Hello,
As per rankings for engineering colleges.
  1. IIT Dhanbad is ranked 12th
  2. IIT Patna is ranked 26th
  3. IIIT Pune is not ranked under 100
So if you do not have particular interest in any stream you can refer the following order, as the rankings are reliable and are given based on so many important factors of concern. But in case you have interest in any of the listed branches then you should go with that. Because if you go with the IIT tag and you dont have interest in the stream, then at last you will regret, as you can perform to your best only when you have interest in that stream. Before choosing any of the college just have a look on the syllabus of all 3 branches and then decide.
Best wishes

I want to do B.E in civil environmental engineering at andhra university vishakapatnam. What are the job opportunities with respect to the gate exam in government sector? Is there is availability of this course in further academic years as i heared that this course will be combined in CIVIL ?

apeksha150598 17th Oct, 2020
Hello student,

Environmental engineering is a sub branch in civil engineering. Very few colleges offer B.E. in civil environmental engineering.
In GATE exam you will have to opt for civil engineering as your branch. There is no civil environmental engineering branch available in gate. Through gate you can go for higher studies such as M.Tech or M.E. and also get yourself placed into public sector undertakings (PSUs).
PSUs such as IOCL, GAIL, COAL India recruit through gate. For this a very high score ( above 80) in gate is required.

For further studies that is after B.E you can go for M.E. or M.Tech in environmental engineering. IITs, NITs and government colleges offer environmental engineering M.Tech courses.

Hope you find this helpful.

what should I choose environmental science and engineering(dual) at IIT bombay or Environmental engineering at IIT (ISM) dhanbad or civil IIT delhi as per placement is considered?

rachanapbennur 7th Oct, 2020

Hello Isha!

As of these branches are considered, I would suggest Civil Engineering. Civil Engineering is one of the core engineering branches and the placement record is definitely better than environmental branches. Job opportunities are very less for environmental branch out in the industry. Since IIT Delhi is an excellent college to study, it is a safer option also.

is environmental engineering is good branch an scope

Aditi amrendra Student Expert 14th Sep, 2020
Hello,

Not that good if you are looking for placements and better job options. At present there is not much scope in the field of environmental engineering.
Basically Environmental Engineering is a research based field and students either go for P.hd or opt for government service exams after completing the degree.Still if you can get into some top college then you may get average placement.

I hope this helps.
