what should I choose environmental science and engineering(dual) at IIT bombay or Environmental engineering at IIT (ISM) dhanbad or civil IIT delhi as per placement is considered?

rachanapbennur 7th Oct, 2020

Hello Isha!

As of these branches are considered, I would suggest Civil Engineering. Civil Engineering is one of the core engineering branches and the placement record is definitely better than environmental branches. Job opportunities are very less for environmental branch out in the industry. Since IIT Delhi is an excellent college to study, it is a safer option also.

is environmental engineering is good branch an scope

Aditi amrendra Student Expert 14th Sep, 2020
Hello,

Not that good if you are looking for placements and better job options. At present there is not much scope in the field of environmental engineering.
Basically Environmental Engineering is a research based field and students either go for P.hd or opt for government service exams after completing the degree.Still if you can get into some top college then you may get average placement.

I hope this helps.

I hope this help

how is DTU mtech environmental engineering

Shudhanshu Gupta Student Expert 27th Aug, 2020
Hello.
M tech environmental Engineering at DTU is quite good, fee structure for this course is about 1.2 lakh per annum if it is about placements so placement is also fantastic, overall highest package was of rupees 25 Lakh rupees per annum and averagely it would be 7 to 8 lakh rupees per annum but for MTech environmental engineering it may vary so after all you would be getting good fame from DTU but  chances of getting placed would increase in comparison of bachelor course in the same but as it is not a popular branch so opportunities may be less, but on an average 60 to 70% of the students get placed every year.
Best of luck.

How is Mtech in Environmental Engineering in India as regards placement ?

Aditi amrendra Student Expert 26th Aug, 2020
Hello,

I might disappoint you this is a truth that placements in M.tech Environmental Engineering is awful. These are some best colleges listed below.
India Institute of Technology Bombay
Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur
PunjabEngineering College
University Of Technology Chandigarh
Delhi Technological University New Delhi
Now, you must have noticed that these are some big brand college and arguably the best colleges but even threw also cant get you any placement.
Basically Environmental Engineering is a research based field and students either go for P.hd or opt for government service exams after completing the degree. If you want to do job after M.Tech then i would suggest you not to choose the field.

I hope this helps.
