which stream i have choose in my 11 to do fashion designing after 12..in my place there are three streams...namely. pcmb --phy chem mat bio pcmc -- phy chem mat computer science and commerce

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 1st May, 2021

Hi

You can choose any stream of your choice for your 10 + 2 if you want to become a fashion designer.

This is because,

To be eligible there's no restriction on the stream you are from.

For example,

NIFT is the most popular and reputed entrance examination for B . Des i. e bachelor of design and t o be eligible for nift for B.Des.  :-

* You should be either appearing for 10+2 or should have passed it in any stream from a recognised board or Diploma of 3 years /4 years recognized by aicte or state board of technical education.

So, you can pursue your 10+2 in any stream for doing fashion designing

* Maximum age of  the aspirant should be less than 24 years as on 1st August of
the year of admission.  For Sc /st /ph candidates there's  a relaxation of 5 years.

But,

In case, if you are interested in B. F tech i. e Bachelor of Fashion Technology then you should pursue 10+2 in science stream with physics, chemistry and mathematics

-) To be eligible for nift for B. F tech i. e Bachelor of Fashion Technology :-

* you should pass 10+2 with physics, chemistry and mathematics or Diploma of 3 years / 4 years in any programme of engineering recognized by aicte or state board of technical education.

* Maximum age of  the aspirant should be less than 24 years as on 1st August of
the year of admission.  For Sc /st /ph candidates there's  a relaxation of 5 years.

i need admmission in b.tech but i qualified 12th in fashion designing stream so how can i apply. any suggestions please ?

Atif Ali 18th Apr, 2021

Hello,

To be eligible for b.Tech, a Candidate must have Studied Physics, Chemistry Mathematics and English as their major Subjects. Thr Candidates must have scored 50 percent in the these Subjects. Five percent relaxation has been granted to reserved category candidates like SC ST. So, if you have not studied these Subjects you are not eligible for B.Tech. But you can do one thing, pass class 12th with these Subjects from CBSE or State board.

After that you can appear for entrance exams like JEE MAINS. Apart from JEE MAINS, you can sit for entrance exams of other Universities too like VITEEE (Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam) SRM JEE (SRM Joint Entrance Exam). These Engineering Institutions does not offer admission into B.Tech Courses on the basis of JEE MAINS score, that's why they conduct their entrance exams to offer Admission.
